My name is Hugh Shirley. Originally, I’m a Bay Area California native and am now a student journalist at Northeastern University. Currently, I’m a Biochemistry major in my second year of study and my interests involve health and medical science and research, so most of my blog posts and opinions of Boston Globe articles will revolve around health and science news. My career goals currently are to work for the EIS, the Epidemic Intelligence Service, which is a branch of the CDC and to study and report on emerging global health developments and crises.

Other interests of mine include reading, swimming, tennis, and cooking. I attempt to read a book every week and might throw a book review on the blog every once in a while (since I’ve always wanted a personal blog and I just might use this one)
